Manual Codes vs Redeemable Links: Which Should You Use?

Look at one of our code posts and you will often see two things: a link you can click, and a short manual code you can copy. They both lead to the same chips. They are simply two doors into the same room.
Most days the link is all you need. But the manual code earns its keep more often than people expect, and there is one situation where it is the only thing that will do.
The redeemable link
This is the one-click route, and it is how the great majority of codes are meant to be used.
You click the link, DoubleDown Casino opens, and the chips are added as the game finishes loading. Nothing to type, nothing to copy, no chance of a typo. On a phone or tablet it is far and away the easiest way to collect.
If a link is going to give you trouble, it is usually because of what is around it rather than the link itself - a small in-app browser window on Android, or the Facebook glitch on a computer where the game loads and no chips appear. Both have their own simple fixes.
The manual code
The manual code is the short code itself, without the link wrapped around it.
One important thing to know before you go looking for it: there is no manual code box in the game lobby anymore. Players hunt for it and cannot find it, and then assume something has changed on their account. Nothing has. That box is simply gone. Manual codes are entered on a code redemption web page instead.
On our posts, the little copy button beside a manual code puts it straight onto your clipboard. Use that rather than retyping - these codes are easy to get wrong by hand, and a wrong character just looks like a failed code.
Which to reach for
Start with the link. It is faster and there is less to go wrong.
Turn to the manual code when the link will not cooperate: when it refuses to open the game on your device, when you keep landing somewhere unexpected, or when you would simply rather copy a code than trust a click. It is the backup that keeps a stubborn code from being a lost one.
Neither route changes what you receive. Same code, same chips.
The one job only the manual code can do
If a code goes wrong in a way that needs DoubleDown's attention, their support ticket for promotion problems asks for the manual code. Not a screenshot of a link - the code itself.
So when you are about to report a problem, copy the manual code first and paste it into your ticket along with the exact error text you saw, what you were supposed to receive, and which device you were using. A ticket with the manual code in it can actually be looked up. One without it usually cannot.
Both doors are on every post we make, side by side, at https://www.ddpcshares.com/double_down_c ... tion_codes. Use whichever suits your device and your patience on the day.
