Usually it means you already collected that code at some point - every code works once per account, ever. But not always. Some of what we post are notification codes, and those behave a little differently.
What a notification code is
DoubleDown sends these out as in-app or push notifications, and here is the part that surprises people: DoubleDown chooses who receives them. Not everyone is sent the same notification on the same day. It is decided on their end, player by player, and there is no setting you can flip to be added to the list.
When a member receives one, they often share it with us so we can pass it along. We post it because it is a real code, and a shared notification code can be redeemed by many different accounts - that is exactly why sharing them works, and it is how our list has run for years.
But our staff have also watched the same thing that whole time: a notification code may not work for everyone. Some accounts click it and get the "already used this promo code or it has expired" message even though they never touched it. When that happens, the eligibility decision was made on DoubleDown's side. We cannot see it, and we cannot change it.
The pattern we have noticed
We want to be careful here, because we cannot see DoubleDown's rules and we will not pretend to. But the pattern our staff have observed over a long time is this: newer accounts and members who have never bought chips seem to be turned away from notification codes most often, while long-established accounts seem to have the best luck.
That is an observation, not a promise of how it works. We are not telling you to buy chips - the free game is complete on its own, and most of what we post is open to everyone regardless. We explain it only so that a notification code failing does not leave you thinking something is broken, or that you did something wrong.
What to do when one turns you away
1. Have I already collected this one? Each code works once per account, ever, and the daily 500K only gives once per 24 hours.
2. Is it an older post? Always work from the newest posts of the day.
3. If it is neither of those, it is most likely a notification code your account was not eligible for. That is not a fault at your end, and it is not a fault at ours - move on to the next code on the list.
If it keeps happening across many different codes and you are certain you never redeemed them, that is a question only DoubleDown can answer, because only they can look inside an account. Open a ticket at https://support.doubledowncasino.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and tell them exactly what you clicked and what you saw.
The honest scale of it
We do not have a machine that generates these. We rely on members who receive notifications and are kind enough to forward them. Some days a notification code goes up because one generous member shared it; some days there is nothing to share.
None of this changes the best habit there is: collect the day's codes every day and take everything your account is offered. One code turning you away says nothing about the next one. The day's list is always waiting at https://www.ddpcshares.com/double_down_c ... tion_codes
