The idea that makes it all click is simple: your account belongs to your login, not to your device.
Your login is the account
DoubleDown lets you sign in the way that suits you, and that choice is what identifies you. Sign in the same way on a laptop, an iPad and an Android tablet, and all three are looking at one single account.
Nothing is copied or synced by hand. There is only ever one balance, because there is only ever one account.
The reverse is equally true. Signing in a different way creates a different account, with its own separate chips. That is worth remembering before you tap a login button you do not usually use.
Collect anywhere, play anywhere
Once you accept that the account travels, a comfortable routine opens up.
Plenty of players do their code collecting on a computer, where clicking through a list of links is quick, and then play in the evening on a tablet from the sofa. The chips collected in the morning are simply there at night.
Others do the opposite. They tap notification chips on the phone during the day and sit down at the computer later. Both are fine. The game does not care where the chips came from.
Codes count once per account, not once per device
This is the part that surprises people, so it is worth stating plainly.
Every promo code works once per account, ever. If you collect a code on your phone, it is spent. Clicking the very same code later on your computer will bring up a message saying it has already been used or expired, and that message is telling the truth.
It is not a broken link, it is not a device problem, and there is no second helping waiting on the other screen. There is also no way to reset a code, for anyone.
So collect from whichever device is nearest. Just do not go back over the same list on a second device expecting the chips again.
The one thing to watch
Because the account follows the login, the only real trap is being signed in as the wrong player when you click.
Chips land in whichever account the browser or app is signed in to at that moment. If more than one person in the house plays, or you keep two logins for any reason, take a moment to check who is signed in before you start clicking codes. Browsers remember logins helpfully right up until the moment that helpfulness costs you a code.
Signed in as yourself and ready to go? The day's list is at https://www.ddpcshares.com/double_down_c ... tion_codes, and it works just as well from a phone as it does from a desk.
